Immigration compliance is complex, with several potential pitfalls for the Human Resources professional. In this presentation, we’ll review current enforcement of immigration regulations and discuss how an employer can prepare for a workplace raid. The importance of I-9 audits and temp agency compliance will also be considered, along with the current status of executive orders. Finally, a look forward to pending federal cases will be discussed.
By the end of this session, participants will:
- Understand current enforcement of immigration regulations, and how these regulations affect the workplace.
- Know how to best prepare for a workplace raid.
- Understand the importance of I-9 audits.
- Be knowledgeable concerning the current status of executive orders regarding immigration.
Megan Knowlton Balne, a partner with Hyland Levin Shapiro, concentrates her practice in the areas of employment, counseling and business litigation with a focus on employment litigation.
